Hello, still available as long as ad is posted is one of the first 1984 red/white/blue edition Interceptor models. Has about 28,000 miles on it, two owner from California, a true survivor. It is ready for carb adjustment and reassembly after a good cleaning and replacing some parts. Been working on it for the past ten years, but can not finish the project because of age (62) been busy with too many projects and family matters.
It has clean title not registered or insured, so you have to come here to see it.
Comes with new tires (no miles on them) repainted body panels using Rustoleum Metallic colors that closely matched original with Lockhart lowers, many additions.
Has a custom pre-lube system operated by clutch lever so oil is always pumping to top end, also twin oil coolers with cpu fans, cpu fans on regulator, nose radiator, and chin spoiler.
Under tank on air box are two supercharged free spinning aluminum 2" fans that pull air into air box through front frame into a K and N filter down into four clean rebuilt carbs ready for synchronizing.
Led lighting has been installed around the bike, red/white/blue under fairings, amber on front fork tubes next to fog lamps, red on trailing arm legs, three color (red/blue/green) flashing led's at spark plugs look like it's pulsing.
Fork seals replaced, rubber dust boots installed on tubes. O-ring chain cleaned and lubed, valves adjusted and aftermarket oil filter adapter installed for better lubing to topend.
Extra switch's on handlebars to operate fans, fogs, led's, remote control for under body led's. Fuse panel is twin VF500's, changed from glass to blade, relocated to battery area.
The carb's have been cleaned and new fuel valves and choke caps and seals installed but need to be adjusted, all manuals, and extra parts included, 750 cooler rack, two sets of crash bars, two seats, soft luggage, etc.
A great project ready to tune to your liking and assemble body as is or paint to your liking for $2000. Some touchup as little nicks over the years, tank is clean and has one little dimple on top from storage. Pictures explain what you get.
Overall great condition for a 35 year old bike. I flew to LA in 2010 to Redondo Beach California and rode ran it back to Arkansas 9 years ago then started the restoration. Has been in covered storage and cycled every six months, everything works, just don't have the time to finish it. Price Reduced, I'm asking $2000, so my loss your gain.
These bikes are rare and worth their weight in parts money alone ! But this is a RUNNER...
No scammers, must email first to get more info. Please ask questions then as I don't like to play email tag , text tag, with one liner statements about what has already been described here in ad. Hope you take advantage of this great offer... Thanks
This is America's first mid engine car produced, as now there is the FORD GT and the STINGRAY. This one got a bad rep because of the 1984 model 4 cylinder "Iron Duke" engine not being maintained well and had oil leak problems that dripped on exhaust or running dry and caused the car to catch fire and burn up. They fixed all that but the damage was done to the rep of the car. Tried and true believers in the car continued with the 1985 thru 88' model (it being the best)series SE, GT, Notchback, Fastback with the V-6 2.8L fuel injected engine along with the in proved inline 4. Real dye hard gutted those engines and put in the 3800 series supercharged versions or small block Chevy's or LS Vette motors and even the 4.9 L all aluminum Cadillac engine. It was also used as the frame work for exotic kit car bodies from Ferrari, Lambos, extra. It's got its followers and this is priced in that market but have a lot more invested in it.
On mine it's the 2.8L V-6 which I stayed mostly stock, changes to the wiring added all on separate system from stock under steering column labeled for switches to dash. Switches are color coded, by dash cluster RED = 4 Fan systems, Yellow = 2 sets of Fogs, Green = CB & ?, Blue = Spots in front nose Roof lights and Backup spots. Another cluster of switches in center dash are extras by backup camera monitor. A set of relays and fuses are located in front trunk for twin 7" fans in front of a/c coil and driving lighting and under car led by master brake cylinder. Also located in rear passenger trunk engine compartment under snorkel scoop are 4" fans, a 16" radiator exhaust fan in Cuda scoop, hi power 6" cpu fans in side body scoops and roof lights and backup spots. Engine is clean and detailed. Recent new water pump and all fluids. Has 4 speed manual transmission, replaced front shocks and steering stabilizer. A/C needs charging but I never used it with the moonroof and power windows options.
Main battery is in rear trunk storage area, another battery (not provided) under spare tire up front (series together @ 12volts, both charge). Most of the lighting has changed to LED, custom tail lights with full red reflector, meteor sequential turn signals front and rear, side markers, plate light, dash lighting, under car led programmable with remote.
A lot of care was taken in building this custom but just don't use it anymore, on a limited budget, have other vehicle. This has never been in bad weather for past five years always in covered shelter. Has like new tires (a couple thousand miles on them) drilled and slotted rotors with great pads.
Body work extras include Trans Am era correct scoops for fender venting and hood radiator venting and of course the Flying Horse decal "PEGASUS". Front spoiler air dam and splitter with flat bottom under nose air intake, also a front mounted Grand Am trunk spoiler wing for down force like a Lambo. Rear fenders were widened with arches of front fenders for a wide body look with 1 1/2" wheel spacers (total 3" wider track in rear) along with Trans Am rear fender flares molded in rear wheel wells. All GT body molding was blended in and doors sculpted. Under door sills sides 2" extensions added for lowering look. Rear stock wing was raised 5" and side pieces added to make rap around and a flap added in rear center. Snorkel scoops with 84' mounting base panels with fans inside. Under rear are 6 exhaust tips (3 each side for the V-6, only two each work) hidden under wire mesh molding and defuser for air stream under car. Car was painted using the body lines as markers for sectioned colors. Interior is original with the special stereo speaker seats, carpet with mats, and dash instruments, redone dash turned metal look fascia and headliner.
I could go on and on but the pictures say a lot. It is a two owner car, first 85 yr. old who bought it new and me 62, I took my time building it since 2007 (clean clear title, registered, insured), I value it in the range of $3500 OBO. It has its quirks for this old of a car but its one of a kind with only 39,000 miles in good condition. It always gets looks and a lot of questions and people taking pictures. Let me know what you think as I have lots more pictures and all the repair manuals.
You can come see it. Don't like SCAMMERS or getting the run around. Will only accept emails first contact, then will give phone number, too many scammers, Hope to deal soon,
